Flavors of Florida, the premier UF/IFAS tasting showcase event, will celebrate its 11th year of highlighting the state’s signature and emerging flavors. This year’s event will generate support for the UF Therapeutic Horticulture program, which helps support both students’ and community members’ well-being.
Flavors of Florida celebrates Florida’s diverse produce and innovative food science, such as UF/IFAS’s research into Florida-grown coffee by the UF/IFAS Coffee Research Lab. Participants will sample chef-curated dishes and drinks featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from UF/IFAS research facilities and Florida farmers.
Some dishes and featured items include:
- Florida beef from Quincey Cattle Beefin Chiefland.
- Fresh salmon from Atlantic Sapphire in Homestead.
- Flowering annual and perennial plants – grown by students in the Annual and Perennial Gardening course at UF.
This year, in collaboration with Florida Sea Grant and UF’s Food Science and Human Nutrition Department, the event will also be showcasing Florida seafood and eating for renal wellness.
