2019: Let’s get this year started!

New Year, New You!

It’s a phrase being chanted everywhere as people are celebrating the fresh start brought by the new year. fireworks and insprational quote

Most people have intentions and make great resolutions, however a lot of people won’t keep them shortly after they begin.

Last year we discussed making SMART goals and even how to cultivate your goals like an apple tree.

But this year don’t just make a resolution; make a commitment.

You can do it!

Firstly, everyone has something they can get better in. We should always be striving for improvement.

Take a step back and really look at what will help you be a better You in 2019.

  • For our club leaders this may be being more organized for the club year, having more fun activities, finding guest speakers or new locations to visit, or simply being more in-the-moment during meetings. Do you have new members that you’re having difficulty connecting with? Maybe you’ve thought about incorporating more of the 4th H for health curriculum. Sometimes a new community service adventure is just what your club needs to bounce back but you’re not sure what you can do. There are always events in the Friday Flyer. If you are hosting something cool we can highlight it there for your club. If you’re stuck call your Agent and we’ll be glad to help any way we can!
  • For youth many of their goals focus around their projects. Do you need to attend more clinics or workshops on your area to improve? Does your record book or project books need some serious help? Are you bored doing the same thing every year and want to try something new? Whatever it is your agents and club leaders will be ready to help. We hope in 2019 to see everyone flourish in their project area but we also encourage everyone to try something new! Challenge yourself in 2019 by doing a speech or demonstration at County Events. Find a new 4-H activity to go to such as Legislature, Day at the Capitol, Hog and Ham workshop, or forest ecology. If you can dream it, we can help you accomplish it!
  • For other volunteers (or potential volunteers): Want to give back to a great cause in 2019 but have limited time? 4-H has a fit for you! Episodic volunteers are those who don’t need to go through the full screening process as a club leader, but instead can help our community’s youth in shorter time spans. You can volunteer to help agents in the school programs, serve as a judge for competitions, help host events, cook, or volunteer during a summer camp. Whatever you can do we will always appreciate. Time given back to your community is never wasted.brian tracy quote

The new year is only as good as you make it. How will you make 2019 your best year ever?
