4-H’er of the Month – Carter Higginbotham

Carter Higginbotham is a member of the Sunshine Crew 4-H Club. He has been in 4-H for 5 years and in that time has shown animals at the Northeast Florida Fair, the Greater Jacksonville Fair, and the Clay County Fair. Carter has helped many of the members of his club with catching, halter breaking, feeding, and clipping of their animals. He teaches them by sharing his knowledge of safety, caring, and showing of their animals. He has many times helped to pick up all the club animals and unload them at the fair while others were in school. And he never complains about doing the extra work! He is always willing to help.

Great job, Carter, and thank you for being an outstanding 4-H member!

Do you know a 4-H’er worthy of recognition? Nominate them for 4-H’er of the Month! This contest is for all Nassau County youth. You may be nominated by themselves, a 4-H volunteer or club leader, a 4-H friend or even by a community member (examples include: teachers, fair board members, etc.). A descriptive statement needs to be sent via email by your 4-H leaders to Mrs. Kristen or delivered to the Callahan Extension Office by the 20th of each month. This statement should include why you deserve this recognition and include your current and former 4-H activities. If you are selected as the Nassau County 4-Her of the month, you will be featured in the newspaper and be in the competition for 4-Her of the year!
