FREE unwanted pesticide collection:OPERATION CLEANSWEEP 2014

Operation Cleansweep is a program offered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for collecting and disposing unwanted pesticides from commercial pesticide users – such as farms, ranches, nurseries, golf courses, pest control companies, etc. The program has been funded this year by the Florida legislature.

Collections will begin in November 2014. Your business can register for free pickup and disposal of cancelled, suspended or unusable pesticides by email or by phone at 877.851.5285.

This program provides pesticide users a free (first 500 pounds, then 89¢/lb) pick up and disposal service. They can register on line starting now.

FDACS expects the collections to begin in November and continue until the funding runs out (it usually does run out, so first come, first served).

Pesticide wholesalers and governmental entities can participate too, but must pay all the costs at the very attractive state contract rate of 89¢/lb, picked up.
