Master Naturalist 20th Year Anniversary
2021 is the Master Naturalist 20th Year Anniversary

The UF/IFAS Florida Master Naturalist Program celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2021. As part of this celebration, the UF/IFAS St Lucie County and Martin County Extension offices will be conducting a discovery of the living shoreline at Flagler Park in downtown Stuart on August 13, 2021. During this event, St Lucie County’s Master Naturalist Instructors Ken Gioeli and Dr. Vincent Encomio will guide Florida Master Naturalists and invited guests on an exploration of the restored oyster beds, mangroves and living shoreline at Flagler Park. Ms. Marjorie Shropshire MFA, local artist and editor of the FL Native Plant Society’s magazine The Palmetto will also guide us on a nature journaling experience of the living shoreline.

Participants will meet at Flagler Park in downtown Stuart at 9:00 AM on August 13th. Park at Flagler Park, 201 SW Flagler Avenue, Stuart, FL 34996. We will be in the water so bring sturdy closed-toe water shoes (no flip-flops or sandals!) and change of clothes. While it is unlikely we will be swimming, participants will be in the water up to knees so please wear your swimsuit. Also bring a field notebook and pencil(s). So keep your eyes and ears open as we dip our feet into the living shoreline!

UF/IFAS Extension Natural Resources Programs are open to all people without regard to race, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political opinions, or affiliations.
