4-H Summer Camp Registration is Open!

Jefferson County 4-H Camp Registration is now open. We have several new camps this year so make sure to look through everything available!

CAMP CHERRY LAKE – JUNE 25 – 29

A one week camp for 4-H members ages 8 to 18 to participate in swimming, canoeing, fishing, recreation and a variety of other outdoor activities. Youth stay in cabins at beautiful 4-H Camp Cherry Lake. 4-H members of high school age may participate as teen counselors.

JEFFERSON COUNTY DAY CAMPS

Day Camps are just that the youth come and spend the day or part of the day doing 4-H activities for a week or four days.

8 – 9 Year Old Day Camp (June 4 – 8) is for youth 8 and 9 years of age. Camp activities are centered around each years theme. Each year the youth go fishing, swimming and to a farm.

Cooking 101 Day Camp (June 13 – 15) is for youth ages 9 – 11. Campers will learn basic cooking and food safety skills, and prepare recipes to eat and take home.

Camp Real Life (June 18 – 19) is for youth ages 14 – 19. Teens will learn real life skills they will need as adults through hands on fun shops and real life simulations. They will learn basic meal prep, car maintenance, how to land a job, money management and more.

At Wildlife Camp (July 9 – 13) the youth participate in outdoor activities at the Jefferson County Extension Office. Youth learn about conservation, forestry, and wildlife, as well as archery, shot guns, air rifles and air pistols. Wildlife Camp is a multi-county camp with Leon and Jefferson Counties participating together with 30 youth from each county.

The 5 – 7 Year Old Day Camp (July 17 – 20) is for 5, 6, and 7 year old youth. Camp activities are centered around each years theme. Each year the youth go fishing, swimming and to a farm during the camp.

Camp Show Me the Money (July 23 – 25) is for youth ages 8 – 10. This camp includes fun hands on activities and games that teach campers about money management. Each camper will get to tour a local bank and open their own savings account. $10 of the registration fee goes towards the savings account.

Camp Money Maker (July 26-27) is for youth ages 8 – 11. This camp introduces the concept of entrepreneurship. Campers will learn about running a business, customer service, and visit a local business. They will also get to plan, buy supplies, and run their own lemonade stand for a day.

Cooking 201 Day Camp (Aug. 2 – 3) is for youth ages 10 – 12. Campers will learn basic cooking and food safety skills, and prepare recipes to eat and take home. Campers will also have the opportunity to tour a local food establishment.
