The Jefferson County 4-H Working Soldiers Club

THE 4-H WORKING SOLDIERS ARE GEARING UP FOR NEW EXPLORATIONS IN 2018

Allen Vanerson our 4-H Program Assistant of the Jefferson County Extension Office will be our special guest. He is going to give us some encouraging words to help make a difference in our club, community, our country and our world. He will assist our club with two fun activities making Radish Necklaces and demonstrating to us how to make Biodegradable Flower Pots. Our goal is to become the best learners and achievers for the year of 2018. We learn through hands-on activities, having lots of fun and sharing our learning experiences in the process.

The two activities for our next meeting with Allen, is the Biodegradable Flower Pots which will teach us seedling planting and composting all in one. The Radish Necklaces will teach us nutritional facts, how to grow your own plant, and how long does it takes from seed to harvest. So there is a lot to be learned on how to make a difference in our community, our country and our world. I look at these activities as a life learning opportunity to start your own organic garden, keeping kids and adults busy, promoting eating in a healthy lifestyle, sharing it with our families and others in our community. I’m excited to see the reaction, the learning experience and the questions from the club members and volunteer leaders.
