You Can Too! Food Preservation Workshops

Ms. Kristin Jackson, Jefferson County’s Family and Consumer Sciences Agent will be hosting the following Food Preservation Classes. *Classes must have a least 4 participants to be held.*

May 29 – Jams and Preserves – 1P – 3P

June 29 – Pickled Peppers – Jelly – 10:00A – 12:00PCanceled

July 2 – Jams and Preserves – 1P – 3p and 6P – 7:30P

July 16 – What Can You Do with a Tomato…. – 1P – 3P and 6P – 7:30P

July 30 – No Pressure we’re just Pressure Canning – 1P – 3P and 6P – 7:30P

Cost is $10.00 per session to cover materials or 4 sessions for $35.00

This is more than a class it is an experience. These workshops require active participation. Attendees preserve food first hand. Sample previously preserved items to experience how different processes effect foods. Learn safe canning standards and practices. Have the opportunity to bring their equipment and have it inspected for safety. Most importantly, participants can ask questions and receive a research based answers.
