Gilbert Farms’ 2026 Harvest Field Day – September 10 & 11

The National Black Growers Council and Gilbert & Granger Farms are hosting a Cotton & Peanut Harvest Field Day, which will be a networking and educational event designed to bring together producers, agribusiness professionals, industry leaders, educators, and future generations of agriculture. The event begins with a Reception on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM, followed by a half-day of hands-on demonstrations and educational sessions on Friday, September 11, 2026, with registration beginning at 7:00 AM and concluding with lunch.

Thursday evening will provide a relaxed atmosphere for participants to meet and network while recognizing our valued sponsors and program partners. Guests will enjoy entertainment, receive general event information, and have opportunities to win door prizes.

Friday’s program begins with registration and breakfast, featuring freshly prepared grilled peanut butter sandwiches served by Brittany Peacock of the Florida Peanut Producers Association. Throughout the morning, participants will experience interactive demonstrations from leading agricultural companies. AMADAS and Kelly Manufacturing Company (KMC) will showcase demonstration equipment and technologies. LMC will introduce its innovative chemical batching system for water wagons, while TAMA will demonstrate cotton plastic wraps and B-Hay wrapping solutions. Newton Crouch will present advancements in nitrogen application using a Variable Rate Spreader Buggy.

Participants will then board trolleys for guided field demonstrations, where Mr. Ethan Carter & Dr. Barry Tillman of UF/IFAS Extension will provide valuable instruction on peanut varieties, insect management, and pesticide best management practices. During the field rotations, youth attendees will participate in age-appropriate educational activities that introduce them to the many career pathways and opportunities within agribusiness, helping inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders.

The Gilbert Farms’ Harvest Field Day is dedicated to promoting innovation, strengthening partnerships, and sharing practical knowledge that supports the continued success and sustainability of agriculture throughout our region.

Gilbert & Granger Farms’ headquarters is located at 5275 Old U.S. Road, Marianna, Florida.  A CEU will be offered to Florida, and Georgia pesticide applicators, and Certified Crop Advisors.  RSVP for your party via text message to 850-209-8471 to aid in food preparation.  We look forward to seeing you there.
