Marianna Kiwanis Club Sponsors 4-H Speech Contest
Jackson County 4-H Agent Angel Granger, was a guest speaker at the monthly Marianna Kiwanis Club meeting held on Thursday, June 4 at Jim’s Steak House. Mrs. Granger was invited by club treasurer Mr. Randy Smith, to come and share information regarding the District II 4-H Tropicana Speech Contest, to be hosted by Jackson County 4-H on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Jackson County Conference Center on Pennsylvania Avenue, and to share information with club members about the 4-H programs being offered in Jackson County.
Mrs. Granger shared that the youth competing for District honors were first place winners in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades, at their respective county level competitions in Bay, Holmes, Jackson and Walton counties and that the winners would receive trophies, medals and gift cards.
At the conclusion of her talk, Mr. Smith presented Mrs. Granger with a check for $100.00 on behalf of the Marianna Kiwanis Club, to help support the District II 4-H Tropicana Speech Contest.
Thanks to the financial contributions from the Marianna and Walton County Kiwanis Clubs, the District II 4-H team was able to provide awards for these deserving youth. We are very grateful to Kiwanis for their generous support of our 4-H programs.
