4-H Livestock Judging Teams Compete at Georgia Simmental/Simbrah Association 2015 Annual Field Day

 

Members of the Jackson County 4-H Livestock Club judging teams traveled to Gibbs Farms in Ranburne, Alabama on Saturday, May 23 to compete in the Junior Judging Contest held during the 2015 Annual Field Day. This event is hosted by the Georgia Simmental/Simbrah Association. The members were also representing the Florida Simmental Association whose president Larry Warden, sponsored their entry into the competition.

Approximately 50 youth from across the southeast competed in the beef judging event that included five beef classes and two keep cull classes. Club members Hayden Warden and Syler Griffin comprised a junior team and members Savannah Caps, Emilee Foran and Bethany Sistrunk comprised a senior team.

The junior team took first place overall and Hay Warden was 5th High Individual. The senior team came in 2nd place overall. Bethany Sistrunk was 2nd High Individual and Emilee Foran was 5th High Individual.

The team members would like to thank Larry Warden for sponsoring them in this event and would also like to thank their club leader and coach Brad Warden for helping prepare them for this educational opportunity!
