State Specialized Agent II–IV, Family and Consumer Science (Food Business and Entrepreneurship)

Requisition # 539476 – Application deadline: May 7, 2026 

UF/IFAS Extension seeks a State Specialized Agent II–IV position in Family and Consumer Science providing statewide leadership in Food Business and Entrepreneurship, supporting county faculty, entrepreneurs, workforce programs, and industry collaborators throughout Florida. This role advances UF/IFAS Extension’s mission by strengthening economic decision making, viability, and growth opportunities for food and agribusiness entrepreneurs at all stages of development. This is a permanent status or permanent status accruing position for an Extension Agent II–IV, depending on eligibility. Candidates who have obtained permanent status in the Florida Cooperative Extension Service will retain this status. The position is located at the Southwest Research and Education Center in Immokalee.

Candidates must hold a master’s degree from an accredited institution in Family and Consumer Sciences, Food and Resource Economics, Agribusiness, Agricultural Education and Communication, Food Science, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related field.

 

State Specialized Agent II–IV, Family and Consumer Science (Housing and Financial Well-Being)

UF/IFAS Extension seeks a State Specialized Agent II–IV position in Family and Consumer Science specializing in Housing and Financial Well-being. State Specialized Agents lead statewide Extension initiatives, collaborate with faculty across departments, and guide program development that supports Florida’s families and communities. This position provides statewide leadership in housing and financial well‑being that strengthens Florida households and supports UF/IFAS Extension’s statewide strategic priorities. This is a permanent status accruing position for Extension Agent II-IV. Candidates who have obtained permanent status in the Florida Cooperative Extension Service will retain this status. The preferred location for this position is Gainesville, Florida, although the location is negotiable based on office availability and input from UF/IFAS Extension leadership.

Candidates must hold a master’s degree from an accredited institution in Family and Consumer Science, Housing, Financial Counseling, Personal Finance, Family Resource Management, Consumer Economics, or a closely related discipline.

 

Brevard County

Extension Agent I – II – Family and Consumer Science

Requisition # 539337 – Application deadline: April 23, 2026

This permanent status accruing position will serve as Extension Agent I or Extension Agent II in the Family & Consumer Science program area for Brevard County. The successful candidate will lead educational programming aimed at strengthening financial capability, supporting homeownership readiness, improving food safety knowledge, and advancing food entrepreneurship. The position includes 5% youth involvement and therefore requires Level 2 DCF background screening.

A bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences, business, financial management, community development, or a closely related field for Extension Agent I. A master’s degree or 50% progress toward a master’s degree in these or closely related fields for Extension Agent II.

 

Hardee County

Extension Agent I – IV – Residential Horticulture

Requisition # 539140 – Application deadline: April 30, 2026

We wish to hire an individual with skills in residential landscapes and volunteer management. As the Agent, you will build and oversee a new Master Gardener Volunteer program including the daily operation of all Master Gardener Volunteer events, projects, and committees. You will conduct or coordinate on-going training for existing Master Gardener Volunteers plus an annual introductory training session for new recruits.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in horticulture or a related field and professional experience.

 

St. Lucie County

Extension Agent I – II – Family and Consumer Science

This permanent status accruing position will serve as Extension Agent I or Extension Agent II in the Family & Consumer Science program area.
