Bay County

Extension Agent I – III – Commercial and Environmental Horticulture

University of Florida/IFAS Extension and Bay County are seeking an Extension Agent to lead Commercial and Environmental Horticulture education through the design, implementation, and evaluation of extension programming that meets the needs of the county’s diverse population. This role provides the opportunity to make a positive impact in the Northwest Extension District and Bay County as you help shape future generations. As such, you will collaborate with the County Extension Director and District Extension Director on other responsibilities that benefit the total county Extension program.

A bachelor’s degree in horticulture or a related field is required.

 

Brevard County

Extension Agent I or II – Family Consumer Science

The successful candidate will lead through designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based education programs emphasizing family and individual financial management and promoting entrepreneurial development (about 95% of your time). At least 5% of the candidate’s time will be devoted to 4‐H Youth Development. The Family Consumer Science Agent’s extension education program will be guided by an advisory committee that incorporates the needs of the county’s diverse population.

A bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences, business, financial management, or a closely related discipline. We will accept applicants without a bachelor’s degree if the degree will be earned by May 2024.

 

Jackson County

Extension Agent I – III – 4-H Youth Development

The candidate will conduct a comprehensive and diverse 4-H education program. The 4-H role focuses on 1) youth development and 2) volunteer development through collaboration with 4-H Extension faculty colleagues and other Extension program areas. The candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service and will respond to client needs in a timely and professional manner. This role provides the opportunity to make a positive impact in the Jackson County community in helping to shape future generations.

A bachelor’s degree in youth development, education, community development, sociology, or a related field is required.

 

Jefferson County

County Extension Director and Extension Agent II – IV – 4H

As a 4-H Extension Agent and County Extension Director (CED), you will work jointly for UF/IFAS Extension in the Northwest Extension District and Jefferson County in the Florida panhandle. We are looking for an individual that is a self-starting, energetic, and team-oriented leader. Your Extension programming will cover Volunteer and Youth development and leadership. The CED/4-H Extension role has focus areas of: 1) Volunteer development; 2) Youth development; and 3) Extension leadership.

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, volunteer and youth development, agricultural education, Extension and communication, or a closely related field is required.

 

Multi-County

Extension Agent II – IV – Citrus

There are approximately 108,000 acres of citrus in the Florida production area of Hardee, Desoto and Manatee counties. The successful citrus multi-county extension agent will develop, implement, evaluate, promote, and report on comprehensive educational programs to help producers and landowners more effectively interpret and use findings of current science and technology. This agent will be expected to teach the most effective strategies of citrus to deal with Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Best Management Practices (BMPs) to protect water quality, water management, horticultural and economic and other advisory committee related topics.

This position requires a master’s degree with a strong academic background in plant science, horticultural science, crop science, entomology, plant pathology, soil and water science, agricultural and biological engineering, or a closely related field.
