Okaloosa County
County Extension Director & Extension Agent II – IV – 4-H

As a 4-H Extension Agent and County Extension Director (CED), you will work jointly for UF/IFAS Extension in the Northwest Extension District and Okaloosa County, a growing area in the Florida panhandle. We are looking for an individual that is a self-starting, energetic, and team-oriented leader. Your extension programming will cover Volunteer and Youth development and Extension Leadership.
As the CED/4-H agent, you will lead, manage, supervise, coordinate, and report on the total Okaloosa County extension program (five County Extension Faculty including yourself). You will demonstrate excellent customer service and you will respond to client needs in a timely and professional manner. Your office will be located at the Okaloosa County Extension Office in Crestview Florida.
- A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, volunteer and youth development, agricultural extension and communication, or a closely related field.
Suwannee County
Extension Agent I – IV – Commercial Horticulture, Small Farms and Natural Resources

The University of Florida/IFAS Extension and Suwannee County seek to fill a full-time (60%-UF funded/40%-Suwannee County funded) permanent status-accruing Commercial Horticulture, Small Farms and Natural Resources extension agent position. The agent will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, teaching, evaluating, and reporting on extension programs in commercial horticulture (45%; vegetable crops, watermelons, blueberries, carrots, sweet potatoes, snap beans, and sweet corn), tree nurseries, food safety, pesticide training, IPM and best management practices, small farms and alternative enterprises (30%), natural resources and forestry (20%). Active participation in the 4-H Youth Development program is also expected (5%), to include but not limited to preparing youth for judging competitions, summer camps, and/or school enrichment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, plant science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required.
