Brevard County

Extension Agent I or II – Family Consumer Science

The successful candidate will lead through designing, implementing, and evaluating community-based education programs emphasizing family and individual financial management and promoting entrepreneurial development (about 95% of your time). At least 5% of the candidate’s time will be devoted to 4‐H Youth Development. The Family Consumer Science Agent’s extension education program will be guided by an advisory committee that incorporates the needs of the county’s diverse population.

A bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences, business, financial management, or a closely related discipline. We will accept applicants without a bachelor’s degree if the degree will be earned by May 2024.

 

Collier County

Extension Agent I – III – Residential Horticulture

As an Extension Agent, you will work jointly for UF/IFAS and Collier County in leading residential horticulture education programs. You will lead, teach, manage, and guide the Master Gardener Volunteer and Florida Friendly Landscaping Programs. You will develop educational programs that address needs of residential horticulture stakeholders. You will be expected to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clientele, community leaders, industry groups, UF faculty colleagues, related agencies, supervisors, homeowner associations and the public.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental horticulture or a related field with emphasis in landscape maintenance, plant ecology, landscape design, public gardens volunteer management, urban forestry, plant pathology, entomology, conservation biology, and agronomy is required.

 

Highlands County

Extension Agent I or II – Agriculture (Livestock)

The successful candidate will lead through designing, implementing, and evaluating livestock education programs to assist producers more effectively interpret and use current science and technology. In this role, programs include cattle, small ruminants, poultry, and equine (about 60% of the agent’s time). About 35% of your time will be devoted to pasture, forage, and small farm management programs. At least 5% of the candidate’s time will be devoted to 4‐H Youth Development.

A bachelor’s degree in animal science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required. We will accept applicants without a bachelor’s degree if the degree will be earned by May 2024.

 

Highlands County

Extension Agent I or II – Agriculture and Natural Resources

County Extension Director and Extension Agent II – IV – 4H

We are looking for an individual that is a self-starting, energetic, and team-oriented leader. Your Extension programming will cover Volunteer and Youth development and leadership. The CED/4-H Extension role has focus areas of: 1) Volunteer development; 2) Youth development; and 3) Extension leadership.

Leon County

Extension Agent I – III – Family and Consumer Sciences

Your Extension program will be based on the needs of Leon County clientele. Your office will be located at the UF/IFAS Extension Leon County office in Tallahassee.

Manatee County

Extension Agent I – III – Commercial Horticulture

As an Extension Agent, you will work jointly for UF/IFAS Extension and Manatee County government. As an extension educator, you will design, implement, and evaluate commercial horticulture educational programs to assist clientele in nursery crop production and oversee the educational programming for the Living Lab at Geraldson Farm Project. You will devote 5% of your time contributing to our 4-H Youth Development program. Your target audiences will include horticulture producers, allied industry representatives, national, state, and local agencies, Manatee County citizens youth and adult, among others.

A bachelor’s degree in plant science, horticultural science, agronomy, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university is required.

 

Pasco County

Extension Agent I – IV – Florida Sea Grant
