Disaster Prep and Planning Poster

The state of Florida is vulnerable to hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, wildfires and other natural disasters. With its increasing population, each year thousands of people come to live in Florida, unaware of the many simple, cost-effective ways they can prepare for extreme weather events and other natural hazards.

This graphic was created to spread public awareness about proper disaster preparation for homes and families, and was first used on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) served by UF/IFAS Extension target audiences. It was then produced as both a large scale vinyl poster (36” x 48”) for display in Lowe’s home improvement stores, and as an 11” x 17” poster to hand out at Lowe’s and at events around Florida during the 2014 hurricane season.
