Andrew Koeser is an associate professor of urban tree and landscape maintenance at the University of Florida Gulf Coast Research and Education Center near Tampa, Florida. He actively researchers a wide range of arboricultural and urban forestry topics. These include tree biomechanics, risk assessent, trees and construction, urban tree biodiversity, and urban forest policy. Andrew is a father of four amazing daughters and a companion to a basset hound named Chewbarka and a cat named Jackie. He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he enjoys kayaking, biking, and board game nights/book club with his fellow science nerd and girlfriend, Sarah.
