September marks the beginning of a new 4-H year. It is time for youth to begin their journey of finding their spark in 4-H. Have you ever wondered how you can get involved with supporting 4-H youth in Hillsborough County? There are several ways to become part of the great work that positive adults do here in Hillsborough County. 70 adults from around the county have committed to creating a positive youth environment for youth to thrive within a traditional 4-H club.
Some adults have dedicated their expertise to serving on the Advisory/Expansion Committee or the 4-H Association.
What is the 4-H Advisory and Expansion Committee?
Simply put, the 4-H Advisory and Expansion Committees are groups of citizens organized by Extension to provide advice on and assistance with the planning, legitimization, implementation, evaluation, and accountability of the county 4-H programs, and the maintenance of the general health and welfare of the Extension organization. The Advisory Committee meets two times a year. The Expansion Committee meets once a year.
What is the 4-H Association?
Contributes to the success of the county 4-H Youth Development program by assisting the Hillsborough County 4-H Staff and other volunteers with the planning and evaluating educational programs and activities for county 4-H youth. Provides input into program priorities and assists with program expansion and review. The Association meets on the second Monday of each month.
