Almost all of Florida’s highly urbanized counties and/or municipalities have fertilizer ordinances. These ordinances apply to everyone with a few exemptions for agricultural properties, vegetable gardens, golf courses and athletic fields. It can be confusing to figure out what the rules are in your county or municipality. UF/IFAS Extension has the solution for you.
The UF/IFAS Florida Friendly Landscaping™ website has free Apps designed to work on mobile devices as well as computers. One of the Apps is Florida Fertilizer Ordinances. Use the App linked below to find your county or municipality. Scroll to zoom in and click on your location or use the search bar to enter an address. After a few seconds a right-side bar will open with menu selections containing detailed information. The last menu selection contains a link to the full ordinance for that area.
