WATER QUALITY UPDATE FOR FEBRUARY 19, 2016

RED TIDE – not detected locally, low levels detected in Southwest Florida and the Florida Keys

FISH KILLS – only report was a dead redfish on Feb 1 – cause was parasites

HEALTH ADVISORIES – Bayou Texar reported 132 colonies/100ml of sample – the max allowed = 104 colonies

PLASTICS – Ocean Hour will be cleaning Project Greenshores tomorrow morning. Meet at 8:45 AM

MICROPLASTICS – 100% of the 17 samples analyzed had microplastics – 79% are microfibers.

Water temp’s in the ’50’s

Salinities lower than normal due to the rain

Dissolved oxygen is fine
