Water Quality Update – Nov 20, 2015

HEALTH ADVISORY ISSUED FOR BAYOU GRANDE

The Escambia County Health Department measured bacteria counts above 104 colonies / ml of water in Bayou Grande this week. Bayou Chico is moderate. Bayou Texar is good.

Two fish kills have been reported this month by the FWC. Both were Banjo Fish, 100 on Pensacola Beach Nov 12, another 100 on Perdido Key Nov 13. Not familiar with a Banjo Fish. Internet list it as a species of freshwater catfish. Not sure which species this may be.

No hypoxia reported by FDEP this week (they did not log data).
