Back by popular demand…the Rain Barrel Workshop!

Bliss ladybug 2Want to learn more about how to protect our local waterways from pollution while conserving water yourself?

Join us on Tuesday, August 18 at 10 am for an informative workshop on ways to prevent stormwater runoff and build your own rain barrel at the same time! The workshop will be held at the Bayview Senior Center, 2000 East Lloyd Street, Pensacola, FL 32503.

Admission is free to listen; $60 cost for those interested in building and taking home a rain barrel (preregistration required by August 14 to purchase a barrel, or August 10 just to attend). All supplies (55 gallon barrel, spigot, hardware, overflow hose) will be provided, although extra wrenches are helpful if you’re building a barrel.

Both free and paid attendees can register online at our handy Eventbrite site. If you have questions, contact Carrie Stevenson (ctsteven@ufl.edu) or Rick O’Connor (roc1@ufl.edu) at 850-475-5230.
