We have had an upsurge of interest in the 4-H program here in Escambia County. Many of you are wanting more information about how you can volunteer, start a club, or get your youth involved and we would like to respond to your enthusiasm with a 4-H Orientation this Thursday, May 7th.

From 5:30pm – 7pm at the Langley Bell 4-H Center, 3730 Stefani Road we will prepare interested parents and volunteers for life in 4-H. Hank Bignell (our 4-H Livestock agent) and I are working on an exciting program for this summer and the following school year and would like you to be engaged in what we are planning and the vision we have for the program here.

We will cover general concepts, updated policies, the mission of 4-H and how you are a primary part of implementing it, as well as answer questions you may have and help get you on the right track.

Hank and I will talk to you about the mission of 4-H, the importance of mentorship from volunteers, what is offered for our youth, and what you can do to be a part. We highly encourage anyone interested in volunteering or engaging their youth with our program to attend. We will answer any questions you may have and hopefully those may not know you have yet. All volunteers should try to make this meeting as you will hear from Hank and Jenny about the direction and scope of the program they are hoping to take on.

We hope to see you Thursday!
