New Beekeeper Resources from the Honey Bee Health Coalition

Since 2015, the Tools for Varroa Management Guide published by the Honey Bee Health Coalition (HBHC) has been a go-to beekeeper resource on Varroa. The guide includes information about the mites, tips on how to select a control method, and additional resources to keep your hive healthy.

Recently, the HBHC released two new resources to help beekeepers make informed decisions about hive management. These guides include information on the best management practice for hive health, and an interactive Varroa management tool.

The Best Management Practice for Bee Health: A Guide for Beekeepers offers valuable information on topics like safety, apiary maintenance, treatment of parasites, and bee nutrition. This guide makes it easy for beekeepers like yourself to find practical information that you can use in your operation The Varroa Management Decision Tool is a free computer-based program that helps beekeepers make informed Varroa management and treatment decisions. First you answer a few questions about the Varroa in your hives; then the tool will generate a list of your options and provide more information to help answer your individual questions.
