Master Gardener Volunteer is a title given to individuals who receive in-depth horticultural training from University of Florida/IFAS employees and in return give 75 hours of volunteer service helping their local county extension office. Master Gardener trainings will be help on Wednesdays beginning in early August and ending in October. Sessions begin at 9:30 am and end at 3:30 pm each Wednesday. The cost to attend the program is $150.00.
After the trainee obtains the required 75 hours of volunteer service, they are awarded the title of Master Gardener Volunteer. Many chose to remain active in the program by agreeing to volunteer 35 hours and attending 10 hours of continuing education each year. Master Gardener Volunteers continue to learn because information is constantly changing based on research conducted by UF/IFAS specialists.

Classes are taught using PowerPoint presentations along with hands-on applications.
