Annual 4-H Foundation Fundraiser

A bright blue sky and refreshingly cool temperature set the stage for Clay County 4-H’s biggest fundraiser of the year. On Saturday March 6th, families and friends gathered for a day of fun and community at the Amazing Grace Crop Maze for the Family Fun Day and “Drive for Clay County 4-H” event. Numerous Clay County 4-H members and volunteers from the Wild Wranglers, AgVentures, Super Otters, Bullseye Bandits, Prime Cuts, Pony Express, and Heels Down 4-H Clubs took part in promoting their clubs and the County 4-H program by showing posters of club activities, talking to Event attendees, and supervising the fundraisers.

Generous donors from the 4-H Foundation board of directors and others, such as Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery, Jacksonville Zoological Gardens, and the St. Augustine Alligator Farm made the raffle a huge success. The 4-H program was fortunate to be able to give away 18 fun, practical, and valuable items, such as a Yeti and Rtic cooler, a $500 visa gift card, a weed trimmer, and numerous restaurant gift cards and attraction tickets. We were very fortunate to have the support of Garber Ford. For its 3rd year, they provided 10 trucks, cars, and SUV’s for adults to test drive with each donation to 4-H.
Amazing Grace Crop Maze, a local business and attraction, attracted visitors because of its family-friendly environment, fun activities for kids and adults, and contribution to the awareness of local agriculture. Clay County 4-H has enjoyed teaming up with them this year. There were train rides, hayrides, livestock to meet, corncrib to play in, local produce and tasty barbeque to eat, and many fun games to play!

In general, the Event was quite the success as it brought together local businesses, 4-H youth, industry, community sponsors, residents, and children for a day of fun and learning in our community! The generous support of sponsors, Amazing Grace Crop Maze, Garber Ford, and visitors made it possible to raise thousands of dollars for Clay County 4-H Clubs!
