Florida 4-H Gator Pit seeks Youth Entrepreneurs and Inventors

GatorPitLogoThe Florida 4-H Youth Development Program is on a statewide search for the most innovative young entrepreneurs, inventors, creators and business people! These participants will demonstrate goal-setting, financial literacy, creativity, communication skills, and effective marketing.

Participants must be senior level 4-H’ers (between 14 and 18 years old as of Sept 1, 2015) with a passion for an innovative product, service, or idea. More importantly, they need to be youth who are ready to start making their idea a reality at this year’s 4-H University. If selected as one of the top five contestants, they will have the chance to pitch their idea (live and online) to some of the savviest Gators around in order to earn up to a $1,500 investment to pursue their entrepreneurial goals.

All five individuals or teams will be given an exclusive coaching session prior to the On-Stage component, and will have the opportunity to explore and learn about the resources available at UF’s Innovation Academy. All competitors will receive a limited release Gator Pit t-shirt, and a meet and greet session with members of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at Warrington College of Business.

The application is available from now until June 1st. You could be the next Gator Pit champion!
