Community Resources: Why use community resources?
Community resources are important to individuals and families. When you need information about a public service or need to learn something new, seek out and find a useful resource. Ask for help, when needed. Assistance can be a just a phone call or a computer click away; websites and phone numbers can link you with assistance and valuable information quickly.
Community resources are like community assets. They help meet certain needs for those living in and around the county. Community resources can be used to improve the quality of community life. Often needed resources are only a phone call away. A newly discovered resource and/or a helpful resource person can be like finding valuable treasure. It is a good thing to be able to positively help another person and it is also personally rewarding to assist others in need.
When individuals and families actively engage with and use available resources, they can respond more effectively to their health-related, disaster and other types of identified needs. They help us develop healthy behaviors and promote independent individuals and families.
