Now open: nominations for UF/IFAS Global Annual Awards

UF/IFAS Global is getting ready to shine a spotlight on a select group of University of Florida scholars for conducting outstanding research around the world.

Nominations are being accepted for UF/IFAS Global’s annual international awards, which recognize faculty members, extension agents and support staff for international research, teaching and scholarship. The award ceremony is scheduled for April 25 at 2 pm. at the Emerson Alumni Hall. But the Feb. 23 application deadline is fast approaching.

Here are the basics. One award is given in each of these four categories:

  2. International Achievement: Outstanding accomplishments by an early career faculty member (tenure track faculty with at least two years of international contributions to their profession).
  3. Internationalizing Extension: Recognizes outstanding contributions by a 100 percent extension appointment faculty member for building an international dimension into their extension program.
  4. Excellence in Internationalizing Student Education: Awarded to a non-tenure teaching faculty or support staff member for supporting teaching and learning of international students.

To apply, follow these instructions and submit a nomination package. Send applications to Kathleen Colverson, associate director of IFAS Global. Self nominations are encouraged. Again, the deadline fast approaches: Submit nominations by Friday, Feb. 23. Interested in how the judges will score the applications? See rubrics for all four awards.
