OPS Veterinary Care Technician
Sleeper Lab DMD Colony
- Brief Job Description – Seeking motivated pre-vet students that are interested in learning more about Veterinary Medicine in a research setting. This positons will be responsible for assisting in breeding and clinical support for a canine muscular dystrophy colony. Responsibilities may include but not limited to, providing treatment, breeding support, and puppy care. May include collecting biological and tissue specimens for diagnostic evaluations, administering injections, oral/topical medications, record keeping and other routine veterinary procedures.
- Hours- focus is to rotate w/other part time student technicians for coverage during the evenings/afterhours; weekend and holiday support for this canine colony (may be adjusted to student’s schedule).
- Prerequisites/Additional Notes About the Position – previous work with animals and knowledge of basic animal care required, prefer experience with canine handling, restraint and care. Looking for responsible, motivated, detail oriented students.
