Standard Cattle in Fresno, California is hiring an Assistant Manager for their modern calf raising and heifer feedlot facility with 30,000 head and 100 employees.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily operations of the cattle feed yard and calf ranch
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement with employees the daily tasks necessary to feed, treat, move, and care for dairy replacement heifer and bull calves
- Monitor and quality control the daily tasks performed by the crews responsible for each task
- Assist the general manager in overall operations
- Perform all the duties of the manager in the absence of the manager.
- Record data to monitor performance of feedlot and calf ranch
- Assist with the training of a new employee’s integration into the company
- Assist supervisors and any employee with payroll discrepancies
- Oversee maintenance and service requirements of equipment
Requirements:
- Moderate computer skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
- General knowledge of DairyComp305, EZ Feed
- Strong work ethic
- Some Spanish speaking ability
- Leadership skills to manage crew of employees
- Farm experience a must
