Registration opens for 2019 Managing for Diversity workshop; deadline to register is February 7

Calling all natural resource professionals! Register now for the Managing for Diversity Across Florida’s Unique Landscapes workshop held at Morningside Nature Center in Gainesville on March 12-13.

Managing for Diversity workshop overview

This 1 and ½ day workshop introduces participants to land management and restoration approaches for conserving diversity in Florida. Specifically, participants learn about threats to biodiversity and strategies that can be used to abate these threats. In addition, participants compare ways to control invasive and non-native plant/animal species. Moreover, participants gain hands-on experience identifying invasive wildlife and use an established monitoring protocol to assess trends in diversity over time.

Managing for Diversity Across Florida’s Unique Landscapes is in a hybrid format; that is, an online component (approximately 14 hrs. of coursework) is required in addition to the in-person 1 and ½ day session at Morningside Nature Center. The cost of this workshop is $250, and lodging is not included. The registration deadline is Thursday, February 7, by 5PM (EST). Register by visiting the Eventbrite page here!
