Outdoor Seating with a View for 4-H Fun!

Bleacher Project
Volunteers have been working hard to refurbish bleachers for 4-H youth to use.

For many years, an old set of three bleachers sat in the Extension field. When Shooting Sports Volunteer Leader Ken Gooding started planning an outdoor space for archery, he envisioned a new life for the bleachers.

A Plan Comes Together

After Ken asked if the bleachers could be refurbished for the archery range project, Advisory Council volunteer Greg James took on the project. With the help of volunteer Padraic Juarez, Greg completed one set.

During this summer, Greg has set the goal of completing the remaining two bleachers by late August. Donations and fundraising helped offset the cost of lumber and hardware. When the bleachers are complete, additional volunteer help will be needed to landscape the area.

New Life for the Extension Facility Green Space

After the bleachers are complete, the outdoor area will be used for archery and other Extension programs. Earlier this year, additional lighting was added to make evening use possible.
