Quinoa – A Gluten-Free Superfood!

Quinoa is a fantastic source of whole grains.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s MyPlate nutrition guide recommends that Americans consume half of their grains from whole grain foods. Most people tend to think of whole grain bread, pasta, or oatmeal when considering their options; however, there is another nutritious whole grain to consider–quinoa! Quinoa (pronounced “keen-wa”), is a nutritious seed that is very simple to add to all of your favorite recipes! It also has the advantage of being gluten-free, which is must for people diagnosed with celiac disease. Read more about Quinoa here!
