Bat Guano Fertilizer Properties: A Florida Master Naturalist Final Project (Uplands 2018)
The Florida Master Naturalist program in St Lucie County conducted the Uplands module Jan – Feb 2018. As their final project, Patrician Sposato and Richard Knott conducted a survey of bats in the bridges of St Lucie County. Using aural and visual techniques, they identified several bridges hosting bat colonies.
This team also collected bat guano at one of the bridges. The bat guano was sent to the UF Soils Lab where the guano was analyzed for its fertilizer potential. The results are linked below.
