Invasive Plant


Management of Brazilian Pepper-tree, Melaleuca and other invasive plants is often necessary in South Florida’s natural areas. This vegetation, if not properly maintained, can lead to increased fire hazards, loss of native biodiversity and changes in hydrology. Improper management may also result in environmental damages and decreased aesthetic & property values.

On December 14, 2017, Ken Gioeli, Natural Resources Extension Agent with the University of Florida St Lucie County Extension, will be teaching a course designed to prepare students to successfully complete the Natural Areas Weed Control Pesticide Licensing Exam. Several special topics will be addressed including Natural Areas Weed Identification; Equipment Calibration Calculations; Herbicide Selection

$40 regular registration closes on December 7, 2017
$45 late registration begins December 8, 2017
$50 if registration paid at the door.

Pesticide licensing exam available after training.

Refunds will be available until the close of regular registration. No refunds will be issued after that date or credited to future classes.
