UF/IFAS Extension St. Johns County Master Gardener Volunteer Training Program

The Florida Master Gardener Volunteer program is a volunteer training program designed to help University of Florida Cooperative Extension faculty disseminate research-based information about horticulture to the public. UF/IFAS Extension St. Johns County will be accepting applications for the 2020 Master Gardener Volunteer training program from April through May 31, 2020. Our program provides participants with 50 hours of horticulture training and requires 75 hours of volunteer service within your first year and 35 hours each subsequent year to maintain MGV status.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 31, 2020, and classes will be offered on Wednesdays, from August 12 to October 7. Interested St. Johns County residents should contact Terra Freeman, SJC Horticulture Extension Agent and Master Gardener Volunteer Program Coordinator, at terraf@ufl.edu for an application, which will be sent out via e-mail starting April 1, 2020.

Unfortunately our event was postponed until 2021 due to the lack of vendor participation, and overall health concerns for such as large event. Sorry for the sad news! We'll have the hot sauce contest next year for sure.

The program will still take place this year, however, the timeframe to apply for this year's program has passed. Please send me an e-mail next spring to get on next year's e-mail application list. Thanks! terraf@ufl.edu
