Winter Forage Food Plot Field Day

Field Day

If you have and/or manage pastures for livestock use, join us on February 17th from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Needmore Land & Cattle Co. (2202 Bishop Estates Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32259) for the 2018 Winter Forage Food Plot Field Day. This 2 hour event will provide participants a first-hand view of the fourteen different varieties of oats, rye, wheat and triticale that were planted on November 22, 2017. An overview of this project will be provided by Tim Wilson, UF/IFAS Extension St. Johns County Production Agriculture Agent followed by a presentation on cool-season forages by Dr. Marcelo Wallau, UF/IFAS Extension Forage Specialist and finally, participants will have an opportunity to walk through the plots to learn additional details about this project.

Light refreshments will be provided, but there is no charge for this event.
