Each Explore Your World kit packs all you’ll need to get started, including items, books, and activities designed to inspire exploration for all ages… from your neighborhood to nature! Available for free check-out at all Sarasota County Libraries locations, this kit is a fun and educational option for families with children or relatives with visiting children. Each kit also includes the activity guide translated into Spanish.

The Magnifying Glass

A magnifying glass is a convex lens, meaning it curves outward like the bottom of a spoon. It makes objects look bigger because the light bends, or refracts, as it passes through the lens. In our  Explore Your World backpack kit, the big magnifying lens can allow you to see objects 3x their normal size and the small lens can allow you to see objects 6x their normal size!
