UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County volunteers joined others from the Human Services, Keep Sarasota County Beautiful, Libraries and Historical Resources and Parks departments on April 10 to celebrate National Volunteer Month.
Twelve volunteers represented Extension at the 5th Annual Sarasota County Volunteer Recognition Event for their outstanding achievements for the 2017-18 fiscal year, including:
- Tammy Boyce,
- Cynthia Greisiger,
- Monica Hallaert,
- Janice Jones,
- Deborah Morgan,
- Larry Stults,
- Andy Tugendhat,
- Wade Varn,
- Martina Venz,
- John Venz, and
- William Wegmann.
More than 200 Extension volunteers contributed 15,751 hours of service worth $388,903 in labor to the Sarasota County volunteer program. Sarasota County volunteers combined to provide over $6.8 million in value of service in the 2017-18 fiscal year.
