EVENT: Get expert advice at annual sustainability workshop

Join us Nov. 29 for our 13th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop and get expert information on community strategies, resources, and solutions to build and foster sustainable living.

Under a “Unique Perspectives for Community Solutions” theme, the event runs 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Girl Scouts of Gulf Coast Florida Event Center, 4740 Cattlemen Road, Sarasota. Register early at http://ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com to save your seat and receive notice of any changes.

Learn

Residents, business leaders, institutions, government agencies and organizations will gather to learn from knowledgeable speakers and panel discussions. Topics to be discussed include: the overview effect with the “Artistic Astronaut” Nicole Stott, plastic pollution solutions, environmental communication, habitat restoration, transportation, food, and more. Early-bird registration is $35 until Oct. 29, then increases to $45 through Nov. 29 (students pay just $25). Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon break refreshments catered by a local green business partner serving fresh, local, healthy, delicious food.
