Every Ten Years: The U.S. Census 2020

Every ten years an event happens that is important to you and to your community, the Census. How much elected representation, money, and overall attention your community will potentially receive is set up by the Census. The 2020 Census is happening right now! At this moment, your ability to positively impact your community is at your finger tips and only takes about ten minutes!

Be aware the US Census close date has been moved up to September 30th, one month earlier than planned. Right now Florida’s response rate is about 76%, we are way behind of Kansas and Idaho! You can check your community’s response rate here. Let’s be number one! Let’s fill out those forms today and put Florida in the poll position!

Many of our community support programs, including land grant universities, depend on accurate counts for funding and other support. In addition, an incomplete census affects communities of color, Hispanics, and Native Americans disproportionately.

The quick link to the 2020 Census, which can be done online, is here: https://2020census.gov/en.html.

Let’s get these filled out and completed today! Don’t forget to let your friends and neighbors know as well!
