Pinellas County 4-H Association is seeking new volunteer members from our community to help us further the mission of Pinellas County 4-H Youth Development!

Do you have skills in marketing, fundraising, management, event planning, youth development, working with sponsors and donors, tech skills, or others you want to put to use? Are you retired and want to help the youth in your community? Are you a recent college grad or high school student looking to hone your skills prior to starting your career? Then volunteering for the Pinellas County 4-H Association may be perfect for you!

What is the Pinellas County 4-H Association you might ask?
The 4-H Association’s purpose is to advise the 4-H agent and county program, support the county program by encouraging volunteer support, financial support, and other resources, as well as serving as the fiscal agent for Pinellas County 4-H.

What is 4-H Youth Development?
4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization. Over 230,000 members in the State of Florida help to make up the community of more than 6.5 million young people across America. 4-H is a non-formal, practical educational program for youth. Florida 4-H is the youth development program of Florida Cooperative Extension, a part of the University of Florida IFAS.

The Florida 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach and caring adults to help youth gain the knowledge and life skills they need to be productive, responsible citizens. To achieve its mission, 4-H accesses the expertise and resources of the University of Florida and a nationwide network of Cooperative Extension Service faculty, staff, and volunteers

How can I help?
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the agent at abowers@pinellascounty.org . We have volunteer opportunities that can work with pretty much anyone’s schedules. Even if you prefer working at home, in our office, whatever you prefer, we can work with you. If you want to work with kids, you will have to go through background screening and fingerprinting, but we provide this to you at no cost. All skills and backgrounds needed! We provide you with all training and support to be successful. Happy to provide references and resume help to anyone interested in volunteering.
