100 Years of Landscape Knowledge!

UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas County hosts a robust Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) Program. The goal of the FFL Program is to use science-based information to educate Floridians on how to create and maintain healthy and beautiful landscapes that protect and conserve our water resources.

In Pinellas County we are fortunate to have two full-time educators dedicated to the FFL Program. We have a wide range of classes and educational opportunities available for everyone to enjoy. In addition to traditional classroom learning, we also have a Community Outreach Coordinator who can visit your community and offer landscape guidance.

FFL-1
Florida-Friendly Landscaping at it’s finest.

So whether you are new to Florida or a seasoned landscape veteran, check out all of the services we have available to help you transition to a Florida-Friendly Landscape.

The Cooperative Extension System was established by the Smith-Lever Act of 1914, and allows us all to benefit from the research and education of each state’s land-grant universities. In Florida, Extension has helped millions by tapping the latest information from the research engines of the University of Florida and Florida A&M University and converting it into practical knowledge we use every day.
