Cydalima perspectalis (box tree moth) in North America

The North American Plant Protection Organization (NAPPO) recently reported Cydalimia perspectalis was detected in Ontario, Canada. The larvae of this moth feed on Buxus spp, a common ornamental and landscaping plant. Landscapers and homeowners should watch for this moth and send any suspected specimens to the UF Insect Identification Lab.
