Mark Weathington’s talk on “Creating Collections that Count” along with his personal mantra “Life is too short for boring plants” was a great inspirational reminder that we need to have fun with our gardens along with meeting our mission, developing staff, connecting with the public, appreciating our volunteers and raising funds. Look for those new or unusual plants to create visual interest and excitement in your gardens. By developing great collections, adding to them and changing them you will keep your visitors coming back to see what’s new.
