Teaching Children to Save

Teaching young people the value of savings and managing money is an important life skill. We hope you will join us in our efforts to spread the savings message, “Start Small, Think Big.”

The annual Okaloosa Saves “Teaching Children to Save” project will be held April 22-July 31 2013. Since 2004, youth have deposited $221,119.12 into savings accounts and Okaloosa Saves has awarded $4700 in savings bonds and deposits.. Last year Okaloosa County youth deposited over $20,000!

Any youth 18 and younger can participate by making a deposit into a new or existing savings account. Parents and grandparents: Use this program as an opportunity to talk about savings with your child and instill the habit of savings!

Schools can also win! The participating school with the most “savers” will win $500 (sponsored by CCB Community Bank)
