Northeast Small Farms Network

The Northeast Florida Small Farms Network connects livestock producers and growers to a resource-network focused on diversified and economically sustainable agriculture. Facilitated by the UF/IFAS Agriculture Extension agent of Nassau County, aims to help address the priorities, issues, and needs identified by small farmers through education and meetings. Meetings will be held at various farms in the region featuring a farmer-led walk and description of the farm operations in conjunction with Extension presentations on topics pre-selected by the membership. The intended audience includes beginner as well as established farmers who want to develop a regional network of producers with similar interests and expand their knowledge base. Membership is open and at no cost.

Our first meeting will be held at Traders Hill Farm on Tuesday May 21 from 2-4:30pm. We’ll discuss soil sampling and then take a tour of Traders Hill Farms sustainable aquaponics greenhouse operations and learn about their ground farming and timber operation. Space is limited, please RSVP at 904-530-6353.
