UF/IFAS Nassau County Extension Director Becky Jordi, will conduct a class for those who have a retention pond on their property and want to install plantings around it. She will be discussing general information on retention ponds and how to better utilize Florida Friendly plants around the pond to reduce pollution and algae growth, with the added bonus of attracting wildlife and beautification of the area. She’ll touch on the rules and regulations set up by the St. Johns River Water Management and the general purpose of these ponds.
