Well Sampling Event at UF/IFAS Extension Hernando County

Did you know… Approximately one in every five private wells has contamination.

UF/IFAS Extension is partnering with the Southwest Florida Water Management District and offering this educational workshop. Attendees will learn the potential pollutant sources, what steps can be taken to lessen potential impacts from these sources, and how to manage your private wells and septic systems.

After the workshop, you will also receive a complimentary water testing for bacteria (worthy $65 commercially). We will interpret the water quality results and discuss the potential prevention and treatment methods with you if contaminants are present.

Registration on Eventbrite: $5.00/person, including handouts and water testing for bacteria. Link to registration: The registration will close at noon on Friday, August 20.

Please note: Due to surge of COVID cases, this event will be switched to Zoom. It will still be held on Tuesday, August 24, 10 am – 12 pm.
